:mpPowerbox is available in two form factors a single channel pod to control one mains circuit (up to 240V/10A), for use in standalone applications, or as an 8-port 1U chassis for rack-mount applications.
:mpPowerbox units are connected to the host via RS-232 (3-wire), or USB (virtual com port), and is controlled with simple human readable text commands to turn a circuit on and off, sequence multiple outputs, or power-cycle an output. This allows the units to be used with computers, remote modems or any simple comms accessible device.
:mpPowerbox is extremely valuable for remote unattended sites, and inaccessible remote devices that need to be power cycled on occasion. Even a 'hung' computer can be power cycled remotely using the :mpPowerbox.
Using condition monitoring in our mediaproxy LogServers, the :mpPowerbox may be controlled automatically by simple message commands as a consequence of error states (frozen video, etc to restart a set-top box)
A future :mpPowerbox option is the ability to detect & query current flow in each output circuit.
