(SBS) was established in the beginning of 2007 and joined the ProSiebenSat.1 Group in June 2007 and is located in London, UK. SBS is managing the playout of 15 group channels to the Nordic and EMEA market. The Playout is the result of a strategy decided in 2004, created by the Scandinavian channels, who were playing out their individual channels in separate smaller playouts. When used technologies were getting older, alternative ways to expand using each other's synergies were evaluated and it was decided to establish a central Playout in London for all SBS channels. In June 2007 the first channels were launched from a brand new, state of the art and fully automated digital Playout Centre in Chiswick Park. SBS is currently broadcasting 4 Danish, 2 Swedish, 4 Norwegian, 2 Finnish, 2 Hungarian and 1 Romanian service. In the Scandinavian Countries their channels account for approximately 25% of all TV-viewing. Within these channels SBS output SD/HD, regional playout, Internet streaming and VoD services on a 100% digital platform. SBS is located in Chiswick Business Park, which has become one of the major broadcasting hubs of London with Technicolor/Thomson, Discovery, CBS News, Viasat and QVC is soon opening their new UK headquarters all within the same Business Park, which has made Chiswick Park one of the most well connected points of origins for broadcast playout, delivering and receiving signals from the entire world.
